mimesys® ESSENCE employs advanced machine learning to analyze and predict how people move their eyes and head throughout everyday life. By leveraging an extensive dataset, it predicts the actual Gaze Dynamics of a new wearer, providing a foundation for the creation of a tailored lens based on:

• Real-world gaze data foundation: GD prediction is based on over 300.000 Gaze Dynamics maps from real users, not theoretical models.
• Prescription-specific optimization: Starting from the prescription, the AI identifies patterns from users with similar profiles. Using this prediction and combined with lens corridor, as-worn position and frame fitting parameters the results is a unique lens for each user.
• Continuous learning: The underlying AI model improves as more Gaze Dynamics data is collected.

Morphing Technology - Tailored design from predicted data

Using the AI-predicted Gaze Dynamics, Morphing technology creates a progressive lens built specifically for each user. Rather than acting as a lens selector limited to a predefined set of designs, the system generates a unique surface geometry tailored to the individual wearer. This approach enables mimesys® ESSENCE to offer infinite solutions.

ClearView MAX - Intelligent High-Impact astigmatism management

ClearView MAX represents an evolution in the management of inherent astigmatism in progressive lenses. The technology redistributes astigmatism toward low-frequency usage zones, achieving up to a 37% reduction of high-impact astigmatism (>1D) in high-frequency areas near the corridor. The reduction of high-impact astigmatism varies with fitting height.

Result: Wider perceived field of view, no annoying astigmatism.

Visual Gradient Control (VGC) - Smooth power transitions

VGC technology manages the rate of astigmatism to increase throughout the lens surface. By ensuring gradual, controlled transitions rather than abrupt changes, the technology prevents the wearer from perceiving sudden shifts in optical power. This smooth gradient approach is particularly beneficial during the adaptation period and contributes to long-term wearing comfort.

Result: Smooth, stable, and natural transitions between viewing zones.

OptiMesh RX - Specific Rx-type aberration minimization

Our research revealed that oblique aberrations caused by individual as-worn parameters like pantoscopic tilt, wrap angle, and vertex distance affect myopic and hyperopic wearers differently. Previously, each prescription was treated individually but with a generic approach. OptiMesh RX now personalizes each prescription with a specific, prescription-type-tailored approach, minimizing oblique aberrations individually and more effectively than before and providing even sharper vision.

Result: Instant sharpness at every angle and distance, regardless of the prescription.

Proven benefits. Real-world performance

A robust user experience study with 50 participants, including both first-time and experienced progressive lens wearers, evaluated the real-world benefits of mimesys® ESSENCE. First-time users gave an impressive 4.6/5 for initial impressions, while experienced wearers rated overall satisfaction at 4.5/5 after one week. Performance was consistently high across all visual ranges: near vision 4.5/5, intermediate vision 4.5/5, and distance vision 4.3/5.
